As Pip’s story is winding down, he has tied up all the loose ends except for one. Miss Havisham has passed away with Pip’s forgiveness for what she’s done to him. Joe and Biddy are now happily married with Pip in their life again. Herbert has finally gotten his dream business. But Estella remains the only person he has not repaired his relationship with.
Opting to go back to the Satis House for the final time, he finds that the land has been cleared with no sign of construction, and sees Estella there alone. The two talk, and she reveals how he always had a place in her heart to which Pip also confessed. The two hold hands, and new hope is planted in both their hearts.
